Blessings to our Choir Director Louis Lebherz and his wife Gaila on their upcoming move to San Diego. Our OLMC Choir has grown tremendously in skill and enthusiasm under Louis’ tutelage. POPE FRANCIS SCHOOL OF MINISTRY FOR LAY FORMATION OF MISSIONARY DISCIPLES This new initiative of the Diocese of Monterey will be inaugurated in the Fall of 2019. The School of Ministry for Lay Formation will consist of a two year program of studies. Year 1 is group study one Saturday per month laying the foundation for ministry in the following four areas: Human Formation, Spiritual Formation, Theological Formation, and Pastoral Formation. +Fr. Donald Higgins, C.S.S. Please remember in your prayers Fr. Higgins. He died at 84 years of age on Saturday, May 18. He often assisted in past years during the summer months at OLMC. May he rest in God’s love.

MAINTAINING GOD’S HOUSE UPDATE: The Capital Campaign continues with $663,641 in pledges received from 92 generous donors. The parish strives to have as many of our nearly 200 registered parishioners as possible participate. Every donation counts! Meanwhile, the Site Committee is moving ahead with the architect into the design development phase focusing on structural issues. Soil testing should be underway shortly to understand any conditions that would seriously impact construction costs. The Site Committee’s goal is to complete the complex design and permitting process soon, with construction commencing thereafter.

PRAYER FOR MOTHERS Mary, on this day when we honor all mothers, we turn to you. We thank the Lord whom you serve for the great gift of motherhood. Never has it been known that anyone who sought your intercession was left unaided by grace. Dear Mother, thank you for your "Yes" to the invitation of the angel which brought heaven to earth and changed human history. You opened yourself to God's word and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Dear mother, intercede for all of our mothers. Ask your Divine Son to give them the grace of surrendered love so that they could join with you in giving their own "Fiat." May they find daily strength to say yes to the call to the sacrificial love- the very heart of the vocation of motherhood. May their love and witness be a source of great inspiration for all of us called to follow your Son. On this Mothers day, Mother of the Word Incarnate, pray for us. In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
